Why Diversity is Good Business

It’s the right thing to do

Glassdoor states that “57% of people think their company should be doing more to increase diversity among its workforce.”

To grow your company

Workplace diversity is among the most important predictors of a business’s sales revenue, customer numbers and profitability, according to Science Daily.

Today’s youth demand it

According to IPR and Weber Shandwick research, “Nearly half of today’s millennials say a diverse and inclusive workplace is an important factor in choosing a job.”

To get the big fish

Major brands are telling their agencies if they don’t diversify, they’ll take their business somewhere else. Brands like Verizon, General Mills and Hewlett-Packard have publicly put pressure on agencies to hire more women and minorities.

To do better work

Deloitte Australia research shows that inclusive teams outperform their peers by 80% in team-based assessments.

Attract stronger talent

By promoting and championing diversity, you’ll be better positioned to attract and retain the best talent and create a highly productive environment.

Become a partner. Make a commitment to Greater Equity 2030.

A challenge to walk the talk

It is our goal to build a self-perpetuating program financed by business partners. We need your support to accomplish that. Greater Equity 2030 is a challenge to Milwaukee business leaders to make a real-world commitment to adding 1,600 positions focused on greater diversity by the year 2030.

Show your commitment

Every contribution matters. You can show your commitment by participating in Greater Equity 2030 at a participation level that fits best for your organization.

Become a sponsor

The challenge is real and our goal is ambitious. We need additional sponsorship support to build the staff and infrastructure to create sustainable change. Greater Together is a 501(c)3, and all donations are tax deductible.

CREATIVE OCCUPATION

JOBS

FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR BY

2030

IN GREATER MILWAUKEE

Why does this program focus on creative occupations?

It is well accepted that the economic vitality of cities in the U.S. is sustained by the heartbeat of its creative culture. Unfortunately, we also know  that people of color are tragically  underrepresented in Milwaukee’s creative occupations.

Until now

To help us understand our challenge, we worked  with Dr. Marc Levine and the University of  Wisconsin-Milwaukee Center for Economic Development to create the first report on racial inequities in Milwaukee’s creative occupations.

Get in touch. Get involved.

Greater Together is looking for individuals who are willing to contribute their valuable time and talents! If you have a skill set that you are willing to share such as social media, event coordination or sales, please reach out to us. Be a part of programs that help create an equitable Milwaukee.
